MOMMA'S CORNER

Hello everyone, I am Tori’s mom, and welcome to Mama’s Corner. While growing up in Mississippi, my mother was a Home Economics teacher and would make most of the clothing my siblings and I wore. She would create her own patterns and use different fabrics and bold colors. This intrigued me to experiment with my own style. At the age of 16, my mom bought my first sewing machine which sparked my interest in fashion. Fast forward, now living in Texas, 1997 is the year I stumbled into my first thrift store. Walking in was overwhelming at first, but exciting and gave me that old feeling of fashion again. The store was very unorganized and the section I needed, kids, was in the back corner of the store. As I searched through the selection of clothing, the prices are what captured my attention, especially since the items were used, but in good condition. That day I couldn’t shop long, as my daughter became restless. Little did she know, this became the start of many visits. As the years went on, and my daughter grew up, I was now going on solo missions and thrifting was my favorite past time. Bringing in stuffed bags from my treasure hunt containing clothes, shoes, purses, etc.  I could tell my daughter was curious as to how she herself could find unique pieces of her own.  Since then, we have been two peas in a pod at the thrift stores. While shopping, I like to look for rare items that people only dream of finding or think you have to be dreaming to find. Mama’s Corner offers second hand and vintage pieces that are high quality and destined to last and stand the test of time. We go above and beyond to find that needle in a haystack so you can mix and match to create your own personal look.
